Designing maternity clothes is not an easy task, and almost everywhere I went they got it
wrong. "What don't these people ever look a real pregnant women?" I would ask. "I mean,
babies are carried out of your pelvis, not the rib cage. When they put the gusset that high, I
can't sit down with the pants cutting in to me." So when I started designing I spent a long
time getting the gusset shape and fit just right. Then I spent an even longer time figuring out
how to put the pockets in. But it has been worth it. Every day of my pregnancy I was glad
for my clothes.
